As of 20 December 2010, all Lonely Miaow kittens will be microchipped, and the following minimum contributions will apply:
$150 - Kittens 8 Weeks - 6 Months
$100 - Young cats 7 Months - 2 Years
$55 - Older cats 2 Years plus
Your cat or kitten will be:
Vet checked.
Regularly treated for fleas and worms while in our care.
Desexed.
Vaccinated (at least one vaccination).
Microchipped.
Registered on the New Zealand Companion Animal Register (details below).
Your cat or kitten will be registered with the New Zealand Companion Animal Register following adoption. If you have supplied an email address on the adoption contract you will receive an email after registration. If you need to update your contact details in future you can do so by visiting http://www.animalregister.co.nz or calling 0800 LOSTPET. Updating these details is free if you have supplied an email address, otherwise NZCAR will apply a fee. Please keep your adoption contract in a safe place - your cat's microchip number is on the bottom of this. If you no longer have your adoption contract most vets can scan your cat to find the number.
This is a only a minimum guideline and larger donations are always welcomed. Any other cat related goods, such as cat food, carry cages, bedding, cat toys and large cages for housing cats would be warmly welcomed.
All cats and kittens are desexed before leaving their foster home. Kittens can be desexed at 1kg, which is usually at around 10 to 11 weeks of age.
The minimum legal age for rehoming a kitten is now eight weeks (please see the Companion Cat Code of Welfare for details) - none of our kittens will go before this age, even if they are big enough to be desexed.
