Below are some of the roles and projects we currently need some help with. There are two categories - tasks which require a bit of time and effort but don't need input every week, and projects which really do require a few hours input a week. Please consider how much time you are able to devote to your task, before agreeing to take on a role. Many roles and tasks can also take as much time as you like - if you're happy to put in more time and effort then that's brilliant. If any of these roles interest you, please

Most of these tasks can be done in the evenings, weekends, and even in the middle of the night if you choose, so will fit around your other commitments. We're here to help answer your questions so you won't be "thrown in the deep end." Sharing the workload between lots of people means we can run a whole lot more fundraisers each year and rescue many more cats.
Less time consuming roles:
FLYER DELIVERY This involves delivering flyers about Lonely Miaow in your local area - or if you're happy to cover areas outside your immediate area, that's great! When we're leading up to an event, you will be asked to deliver flyers regarding the event. We'd really like to build up our flyer delivery team so that it's easy to spread the word when we're holding fundraising events.
BE A DONATION "DROP OFF" POINT For this role you'll need a spare room/corner/cupboard where you can store donated items until you are able to take them to a foster home or one of our other volunteers. This is very much an "every now and then" role - but a very important one. When people contact us about donations, we will give them the phone number of their nearest drop off point(s) so that they can get in touch with you.
VOLUNTEER TO PICK UP DONATIONS As with the drop off point role, this is very much and "every now and then" role. Sometimes people simply can not drop off to us, so it would be great if we could have some volunteers to pick up from these people. Unfortunately we are unable to reimburse petrol costs. When people contact us about donating items that they can't drop off, we will forward their details on to you and you will need to get in contact ASAP to arrange a suitable time to pick up.
Projects requiring regular input (a few hours a week)
TRADEME, SELLA, PETS ON THE NET We need all our cats and kittens ready for adoption listed in as many places as possible so they can find their new homes quickly. Our ads need to be updated regularly and new cats and kittens added as soon as they are ready.
KEYS TO OUR RESCUE CENTRE This role focusses on spreading the word about our "Keys to our Rescue Centre" campaign. If you could spend a few hours a week finding and approaching businesses who may regularly have excess keys during the course of their work (e.g. locksmiths, key cutting businesses, security companies, real estate agents and property managers) or who may have re-keyed their premises in the past.
DONATION BOXES This role involves working with the volunteers who are looking after donation boxes in their local area and making sure the boxes are regularly cleared. This will also involve maintaining a database of the location of our donation boxes, setting up businesses/vets with donation boxes, monitoring bank deposits and removing donation boxes which are not being regularly emptied.
CLICK-TO-GIVE We are actively looking for someone to spearhead this entire project. This is a big commitment to start with.
